The primary goal for Cub Scouts and for Pack 86 is to have fun while developing life skills and an appreciation of the outdoors, citizenship, and family. Scouting offers your boys an organized and unique opportunity not available with other club and recreational activities to build strong character that will promote success throughout their lives.
Cub Scouts is a participative organization… parents/sponsor must be engaged with their “favorite” cub scout. It is suggested that some requirements for each rank (or level) be reserved for “home activity” to facilitate this involvement and future develop the bond between scout and sponsor. Whenever possible, both moms and dads are encouraged to participate in their son’s progress through Scouts.
Pack 86 is chartered by East Bradford Elementary School with a 30 year history. The Pack is active with an average of 60-70 boys. The Pack is supported financially through 3 avenues: dues, annual popcorn sale (October), and Bowl-A-Thon (Jan-Feb). Outside of re-chartering with the Council office (which includes insurance and a subscription to Boys Life magazine), the primary expense to the Pack is supporting awards and activities for your favorite scout. One of the traditions of Pack 86 is to give back to the community: each winter, the Pack sponsors a family for the holidays that would not enjoy a bountiful holiday without our assistance.
