Thank you for visiting Cub Scout Pack 66's website. Our Cub Scout Pack meet 2-3 times a Month on Tuesdays during the school year at Episcopal Church of the Annunciation at 602 N Old Orchard Lane from 7:00-8:00pm. We are chartered out of the VFW 9168. The pack consists of five different dens. Depending on the age of your boy, your son will be assigned to one of the following dens:
- Lion Den, 5 Year/Kindergarten
- Tiger Den, First Grade
- Wolf Den, Second Grade
- Bear Den, Third Grade
- Webelos I Den, Fourth Grade
- Arrow of Light Den, Fifth Grade
Each den has a different purpose and does different activities for your son’s age level.Since Tigers are the youngest, they tend to go on more“Go-See-Its.” They are like field trips with a theme. Also, since Tigers are younger, parent involvement is required.Depending on their den leader, boys in older dens can be dropped off at their den meetings. Parental involvement is always encouraged.
Each Den Leader, Assistant Den Leader, Cub Master, Assistant Cub Master and committee chair is trained. Each adult in a leadership role is required to do a Youth Protection Training, and a background check. Having said that, there are lot adults who want nothing more than to see your boy succeed and have fun in scouting.
The thing that is said to us most is: “We are busy with Football/Baseball/Soccer/Karate. We may not have time to participate.” As a parent of a boy who loves baseball, I hear you. We understand your son’s obligations. We have a lot of boys that are involved in sports. We have had boys show up to pack meetings in baseball uniforms. It is ok to miss for a game or practice. We will work with you and your schedule.
Your son will experience different activities with cub scouts he may or may not get to experience anywhere else. At different Cub Scout events, your son can do archery, bb-guns, sling-shots, human foosball, human bumper cars, hiking, fishing, adventure days, and much more. They also learn skills such geo-tracking, wood working, knots, leatherworking and other activities. It is guaranteed that your son will build a bird feeder, pine wood derby car, air rocket in your son’s experience with pack 66.It may not all be in one year, but he will get there. See below schedule of activities planned for our Pack this year.
