Cub Scouting

The Cub Scout Program is designed to provide boys and their families with fun, education, and exciting times to grow together in community spirit. We do all kinds of activities, like family camping, Pinewood Derby, community service projects, and so much more!

The "Pack" is our large unit, usually about 40-60 boys.  The Pack is split into smaller groups of 10-12 boys called "Dens", based on their age and rank.  These Dens, as well as the Pack are run by volunteer leadership!  Cub scouting is a neighborhood centered, family oriented program that gives the boys the opportunity for many experiences while learning to become good citizens.  The achievements for rank advancement are packed full of FUN and develop skills that your boy may not otherwise be exposed to!  We have three campouts per year at one of our State Parks and usually within an hour's drive.  If not called upon to be a leader, you will be asked to fill a committee of activity position.  We are an active group that runs on the power of our adult volunteers who, just like you and me, have other activities, (jobs, family, church, sports, etc.) that compete for our time.  However, just as for the boys, the time you devote to Cub Scouting will be fun and rewarding!

Boy Scouts of America is a family organization.  Some of the Scout achievements will be done at home with the parents.  Parents are expected at the Pack meetings.  The Pack leadership (Committee members and Den leaders) are all parent volunteers.  For each Den, we need a Den Leader, Assistant Den Leader and a Committee Member.  BSA provided Free training and lots of support is available.

Building Tomorrow's Leaders

Since 1910, Scouting has helped mold the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes and, through nearly a century of experience, understands that helping youth puts us on a path toward a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.

Scouting, with programs for young men and women, helps meet these six essential needs of the young people growing up in our society:
